Remembering 9/11
This flag was originally placed by a local firefighter after the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center. Located 18 miles North of Pasco between Eltopia and Mesa (in the Hwy 395 medium), no line power was available near the site. Franklin PUD worked with the American Legion and area firefighters to preserve this monument by improving the pole and adding a solar powered lighting system.

The flag has since taken on a life of its own and made its way into the hearts of many Columbia Basin residents. With the outpouring of donations and time, it has been ensured a home here in the Columbia Basin.
