Franklin PUD Clarifies Status Amid City of Pasco Water Rate Reports
PASCO, WA – Franklin PUD is issuing a clarification for its customers following recent news reports regarding utility rate increases in the City of Pasco.
Some media coverage concerning the City of Pasco’s proposed water and sewer rate hikes has inadvertently used images of the Franklin PUD administration building and branding. Franklin PUD wishes to clarify that it is an independent Public Utility District providing electric services and is not the entity implementing the water and sewer rate increases mentioned in these reports.
“We want to ensure our customers have the most accurate information regarding their monthly bills,” said Rosario Viera, Public Information Officer. “While we share a billing kiosk location with the City at Pasco City Hall for customer convenience, Franklin PUD’s electric rates are separate from the City’s water and sewer fees. The current rate discussions at the City Council level do not affect Franklin PUD electric rates.”
Franklin PUD encourages customers with questions about their electric bills to visit www.franklinpud.com or call our customer service department at 509-547-5591. Questions regarding water and sewer rate hikes should be directed to the City of Pasco Utility Billing department.
About Franklin PUD: Franklin PUD is a customer-owned utility providing safe, reliable, and cost-effective electric service to the residents of Franklin County.
